We are a small, cozy, relaxing guest house; a home away from home. That goes the
extra mile for our treasured guests. We are located in Pike County, which is located in the west central area of Illinois. Our guest house is located 9 miles from Pittsfield, the county seat, and 9 miles from Winchester, also there are several quaint small communities and attractions. The house was built in 1850, this three story structure is the only brick building in th town of Florence, Illinois. The "Ole Brick" as the locals still call it over looks the beautiful Illinois River.President Abe Lincoln stayed here during the great debates of 1858 between him and Douglas; while traveling from Winchester to Pittsfield. The local dignitaries from Pittsfield/Pike County Area visited with him here when they came to escort him to Pittsfield. |
